Job Title: Content Delivery Network Engineer

Location: 100% Remote role

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Job Description:

Need 10+ years of experience in CDN implementation and configuration at an enterprise level (there is flexibility on the number of years of experience), proficiency in at least two programming/scripting languages (e.g., GoLang, NodeJs, Python, Java), and hands-on expertise with CDN solutions like Akamai, Imperva, Fastly, CloudFront, or Cloudflare (full details in the job description referenced).

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, optimize, and maintain CDN solutions (e.g., Akamai, Imperva, Fastly, CloudFront, Cloudflare) to enhance content delivery performance.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Python, Terraform, GitOps, or other scripting languages for CDN configurations.
• Optimize cache settings, routing rules, security configurations, Bot Manager, and DNS configurations.
• Monitor system performance using tools like Akamai TrafficPeak, Grafana, Splunk, MS Sentinel, New Relic, or Akamai Metadata Tracer, and create dashboards/alerts for reliability.
• Provide on-call support, triage, and troubleshoot CDN issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, network engineers, security experts) to integrate CDN solutions into enterprise applications.

• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Provide CDN recommendations, including reference architecture, configurations, and deployment processes.
• Support incident resolution and root cause analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in CDN implementation and configuration for enterprise-wide distributed systems.
• Proficiency in 2+ programming/scripting languages (e.g., GoLang, Node.js, Python, Java).
• Hands-on experience with CDN platforms (e.g., Akamai, Imperva, Fastly, CloudFront, Cloudflare).
• Strong understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, TLS/mTLS, DNS, HTTP/s, proxy, load-balancing, WAF).
• Experience with API tools (e.g., Postman, REST APIs) and API acceleration/caching patterns.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and building dashboards/alerts for system reliability.
• Knowledge of distributed compute environments (client-server, VMs, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including late-night releases, with a team-oriented approach to balance workloads.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Akamai CDN solutions.
• Experience with search engine and performance optimization for CDN solutions
